Tyler Lattenhauer (She/Her)

Clinical Psychology PsyD | Los Angeles Campus

Hometown: Placentia, CA

My name is Tyler Lattenhauer and I am a 2nd year clinical psychology student in the PsyD program in the Health Emphasis. My professional goals include working in the state prison, promoting rehabilitation, and eventually opening a private practice to work with adolescents and young adults. I am also interested in working with individuals with dual diagnoses. I am a single mother of two boys ages 5 and 2. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, as well as watching Japanese anime and playing video games. I enjoy working out and hot yoga classes at my gym on my free time, and cooking new recipes.

Fun Fact: I obtained my black belt in Tae Kwon Do when I was 12 years old.

Research Interests: Identity formation in multiracial/multiethnic groups and PTSD resulting from sexual trauma in individuals.

Favorite part of the program: My favorite part of my practicum site is seeing the improvement of those struggling with severe mental health over time. I am proud to be a part of that process and help support those that are in need. Sometimes, we will be the only support that our clients will have and that will mean the world to them.

Practicum/Internship site: View Heights Hospital

Advice to first year students: My advice to a first year student would be that although this level of graduate work is intense, you have the ability to persevere your education because this is something that you are passionate about and do because you love it.
