My name is Sophia De La Torre and I am a first year PsyD student at Alliant International University-Los Angeles in the Clinical Psychology program. I obtained my bachelor’s and master’s from Cal State Dominguez Hills by 2017. I have some experience with working with clients struggling with eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, and personality disorders. My long term goals are to be a licensed clinical psychologist in California working with clients going through health crisis i.e. cancer treatment as well as individuals going through the grieving process. I would also like to conduct psychological assessments in the future.

Research Interests: Conspiracy theories, trauma, confirmation bias.
Favorite part of the program: The emphasis and importance placed on cultural and intersectionality.

Advice to first year students: Be excited about all the knowledge you will gain from each lecture, reading, homework assignement, and so on and it will change the way you maneuver through your classes and this program. Enjoy it!
