Hello! I am in my first year in the Clinical Psychology PsyD program at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant. I was previously an RBT/Behaviour Technician at an early intervention clinic for autistic children, and I am currently in the Family And Couples Emphasis (FACE) at CSPP. I am invested in family systems theory and in working with the whole family, and I am pursuing a career providing treatment for families of children with severe mental or medical illness. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in both English Literature and Classics, and despite having a non-psychology related educational background, I am passionate about mental health, equal mental health care access, and helping others.
Fun Fact: I love reading books and I am an absolute Lord of the Rings and other fantasy novel nerd.
Research Interests: Sibling subsystems in families where one child is experiencing medical or mental illness, couple relationships in families with an autistic child, grief counselling for the whole family, and enmeshed boundary patterns between mothers and daughters.
Favorite part of the program: The cohort! Also, I absolutely love working with children and have had the amazing opportunity to get to work with a large population of creative and wonderful kids at the Girls and Boys Club.
Practicum/Internship site: Boys & Girls Clubs of West San Gabriel Valley & Eastside - Estrada Courts
Advice to first year students: As a current first year student, I would say to a student starting the program to breathe, rely on the friendships you build in your cohort, and make sure to set aside time for self-care.
