Hi everyone! My name is Sara Assary and I am a 3rd year student here at Alliant San Francisco Bay Area campus! I am originally from Florida and I did my undergraduate degree at the University of Florida (go gators!). I am currently doing my practicum training at a college counseling site and hope to work in a similar setting for my career. I am a social justice advocate and activist; I incorporate this frame within my career and education.

Fun Fact: I grew up on a farm.

Research Interests: Mindfulness and self compassion, culturally appropriate resources for Iranian/Persian American populations, and animal assisted therapy

Favorite part of the program: The various opportunities open to students and their interests, made possible by the incredible faculty and staff

Advice to first year students: Try your best not to procrastinate and also remember that we are all in this together!
