Megan Mouanoutoua is currently working towards her doctorate of psychology in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology (Alliant International University, Fresno). Megan is passionate about advocating and bringing awareness to others about the stigma of mental health. She hopes to provide individuals with a positive therapeutic experience. Megan acknowledges cultural and individual differences by implementing theoretical interventions that are tailored to the client’s psychological needs (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Gestalt, etc.). Megan believes that creating a positive and collaborative environment is vital to implementing change. She is open to working with a diverse population and improving the mental wellness of these individuals. Megan is interested in continuing her education in relation to neuropsychology in hopes of working with individuals suffering from conditions that affect brain health.
Fun Fact: I enjoy traveling and hiking.
Research Interests: Asian American mental health.
Favorite part of the program: My favorite part about the program and the practicum site I am currently placed at is being able to implement my education in a clinical setting. I enjoy learning and applying the information with my clients. The most rewarding thing is seeing clients get better with the knowledge you learn from the program.
