My name is Maya Webb and I’m pursuing a Doctorate of Psychology in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) at the California School of Professional Psychology (Alliant International University, San Diego). I am currently in my G1 year of education and eager to broaden my horizons in the field of Psychology. I have been working for 1.5 years at RTC, PHP and IOP levels of care for adolescents aged 11-19 years old providing group therapy and educational support. I have experience working as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) providing applied behavioral analysis to 3–5-year-old children on the Autism spectrum. Further, I have volunteered at a DV shelter as a California Certified Hotline Crisis Counselor for 2+ years assisting survivors of IPV get the healthy fresh start they deserve. I aspire to continue working with adolescents diagnosed with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), and co-morbid Substance Use Disorders (SUD).

Fun Fact: I was in a Pilot episode of a TV show on Discovery Channel.

Research Interests: My research interests include women's mental health, the endocrine system, C-PTSD, LGBTQ+, adoscent high-risk behaviors, juvenile delinquency, assessment, developmental disabilities, DV and IPV.

Favorite part of the program: The support of both professors and students creates a positive atmosphere that fuels learning and promotes passion towards the field of Psychology.

Practicum/Internship site: Protected Roos Integrative Treatment Center (PRI); Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Outpatient (OP).

Advice to first year students: Practice self-care and give yourself grace through this experience. Always remember, we must help ourselves before we help others. Implement mindfulness into your daily routine to help ground yourself by staying in the present moment.
