Madeline Kop (Kop)

Clinical Psychology PsyD | San Diego Campus

Hometown: Melbourne, Australia

My name is Madeline Kop. I am a 4th year PsyD student in Clinical Psychology with a trauma and forensics emphasis. Originally from Melbourne, Australia, I have enjoyed exploring the US through traveling and living in different states over the past seven years. I am currently completing my predoctoral internship at Arkansas State Hospital and am genuinely loving the experience and training here. I was intentional throughout the program to gain the training I needed to be competitive for internship and to be a competent clinical and forensic psychologist post graduation. My research interests relate to how the law applies affects individuals with mental illness and how this intersects with constitutional rights.

Advice to first year students: Start your personal development therapy sooner rather than later, find an organizational system that works for you, and when things get tough, just remember your "why" and lean on people. Nothing worth having is easy!
