Hometown: Poway, CA

Hello! I am a Master’s student in MFT at Alliant. Professionally, I am committed to trauma-informed and feminist-informed approaches, emphasizing principles of justice, humility, resilience, and hope. I serve as a research assistant with Dr. Danna Abraham at the Research Initiative for Storytelling Engagement (RISE) lab and as an assistant editor for the Academic Journal of Narrative Therapy, under Dr. Thomas Stone Carlson. I am also a performing poet, sharing stories surrounding human rights, humanity, and social justice. I find joy in allowing my imagination to grow through artistic activities that allow me to explore my creativity, as well as in wellness practices like breathwork and sound baths. I am also a proud cat mom to Riley!

Fun Fact: I grew up on a ranch!

Research Interests: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Trauma-Informed Care, Intimate Partner Violence, Refugees and Asylum Seeker

Favorite part of the program: My favorite part of the program is the exceptional education and mentorship I've received from my professors. Their expertise and passion for teaching has given me inspiration in both my academic and personal growth. I truly appreciate the thoughtfully curated materials and resources provided, which deepen my understanding of key concepts in the field. The supportive and engaging atmosphere they cultivate makes each class a rewarding experience, and I feel incredibly fortunate to learn from such amazing educators. Their guidance not only enriches my academic journey but also prepares me to be an effective and compassionate practitioner in the future.

Advice to first year students: The advice I would give to a first-year student is to not be afraid to connect with professors and peers already in the program. There are so many valuable connections to be made, and engaging in conversations can lead to inspiring insights. Embrace those opportunities and don't shy away from entering discussions!
