Clinical Psychology PsyD | Sacramento Campus
Hometown: Fresno, CA
Hello! I am currently in the Clinical Psychology PsyD program with an emphasis in Trauma Assessment and Intervention at the Sacramento campus. I received my Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Davis. I also received my Master’s of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. I completed my master’s practicum training at an outpatient community mental health organization where I worked with diverse clients with depression, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders.
Currently, I am the student council representative of the Sacramento Alliant campus for the Western Psychological Association. I am also currently working in a research lab on campus that is exploring the association between childhood sexual trauma, dissociative symptoms, and self-destructive behaviors.
Fun Fact: I worked as a barista for 5 years and have a kitten named Cortado!
Research Interests: I am currently researching the association between childhood sexual trauma, dissociative symptoms, and self-destructive behavior in adulthood. Other areas of interest for me would be religious trauma, self-esteem and achievement, and anxiety disorders.
Favorite part of the program: My favorite part of this program is how extremely supportive the staff and students are. Everybody wants to see you succeed and there is help available, so do not be afraid to ask for it!
Advice to first year students: Take it one day at a time and find comfort in the discomfort of growth!
