Audrey Irwin (She/Her)

School Psychology MAE | Virtual Campus

Hometown: San Diego, CA

My name is Audrey Irwin and I was born and raised in San Diego, CA. I moved to Chicago, IL to play volleyball and work towards my B.A. in Elementary and Special Education at Wheaton College. After graduating, I taught 2 years of First Grade and Early Childhood Special Education in Dallas, TX, where I also received my M.Ed in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University. I recently moved back to San Diego and began my MAE in School Psychology through Alliant International University. I am so thankful for this program, and look forward to learning and growing. My professional goal is to become a school psychologist following graduation and start my PsyD in Educational Psychology from Alliant International University to further contribute to the field of School Psychology. In my free time, I enjoy working out and spending time with my pit bull, Miley.

Fun Fact: I volunteer at a pit bull rescue and have a pittie of my own, Miley!

Research Interests: Non-suicidal self injury, crisis.

Favorite part of the program: My favorite part of the program is how I have gotten to know the other students in my program! They've been very helpful and encouraging throughout the process.

Practicum/Internship site: Poway Unified School District

Advice to first year students: You are capable of anything you set your mind to! Set goals for yourself and take one step at a time to accomplish them.
